One of Australia’s most prominent web 2.0 investment groups, Future Capital Development Fund (FC) has invested in MyGuestList.com.au, an online guest and client relationship management tool for the hospitality industry.

“We are pleased to be working with the MyGuestList.com.au team on the expansion of the business,” said Future Capital chairman Domenic Carosa in a statement. “For the first time ever, venues can track patron demographics in real time. On the spot promotions and initiatives can be applied to frequent visitors.”

MyGuestList.com.au chief executive officer Damian Janski said he was “very pleased and excited” that FC had come aboard as as a shareholder and looked forward to an expansive future in the Australian market. “We look forward to benefiting from their vast knowledge and experience in the online sector as we continue executing on our growth plans in Australia,” he said.

MyGuestList.com.au is a real-time web-based tool, designed specifically for venue operators and holiday promoters who pay a monthly subscription fee to use the service. The service also has smart phone support and “Australia’s first fully automated iPad App” for guestlists and bookings.

Future is a pooled development fund that only has eyes — and expenditure — for Australian Internet start-ups. In early August, the fund invested in another hospitality site, CheapHotels.com.au, an online accommodation booking site. The investment was a round A round series investment — a base investment for the initial years of a start-up.

As well as Carosa, the pool involves prominent business personalities such as former realestate.com.au CEO Simon Baker, Danny Wallis — founder of DWS Advanced Business Solutions and Flexirent founder Andrew Abercrombie.
