Slow day at Delimiter today

22

hey everyone,

hope you’re well!

Just a quick note to let you know that we’re having a slow day at Delimiter today as I am both sick and away (what an annoying combination!). It’s actually a terrible time for it, as there are a stack of amazing stories I want and need to write — the Internet piracy (Attorney-General’s) and NBN stuff coming out of Senate Estimates, a bunch of enterprise IT stuff (especially the banks, and the Federal Government procurement situation), further stuff about the ABC’s NBN coverage and more. But it’s quite unavoidable.

I will catch up with everything on Sunday night and Monday — with a vengeance! Stay tuned for that. I also have another major feature article on cloud computing coming next week. In the meantime, I recommend you check out sites like Whirlpool, iTNews, ZDNet, the Financial Review and Ausdroid for your local technology articles.

Apologies again for this — I had planned to have more material today but this week got railroaded by illness and a confluence of events. But I will see you all next week!

Cheers,

  1. One of the reasons I come back here everyday is this kind of respect for your readership. Thanks for the heads-up and keep up the good work.

I’m looking forward to the pending articles.

      • And I mean that regardless of whether you’re actually sick or whether it’s a Sabbath-like day of rest and admiration on which we’ve once again seen the unveiling of another monumental leap forward by Elon Musk. Or both.

That picture of him sitting in the thing, his feet dangling is just about the most lovable dorkiest wonderful amazing beautiful thing I have ever seen.

    • What the media industry never got was that piracy wasn’t necessarily a lost sale. A lot of it was either people testing the waters before they hand over money or simply from people who never really brought content anyway. So I’m not surprised at all by this.

  2. I’ve come to really enjoy reading your work over the last couple of weeks, Renai. Rest up and get back to us when you can. Sooner the better :p

  3. “further stuff about the ABC’s NBN coverage and more”

speaking off record to some people at the NBN senate estimates last night. They believe there is something to this

  4. You can’t get sick now.. We need your take on Senate estimates.. Oh woe is me.. What shall I do?

  5. Does anyone have a link to estimates transcript or video? The website doesn’t have them loaded yet.

  6. Renai you really need to reign in that resident writer of yours!

Getting sick and faffing off for the day! The nerve! =P

Get well soon! There will always be plenty of tech related news in the mean time!

    • Hey mate, I don’t get the same problem, looks like a problem with your caching. We get 130k visitors a month, this is the only time I’ve seen this. Have you tried hitting refresh?

    • Yeah I had that the other day as well hit refresh and it was fine.

The odd thing was though, it was a clean build machine. Now it’s possible the work Proxy still had an old version, but that seems odd as I had been on it the day before.

      • OK, I’ll ping my developer on it, given that a few people have seen the error. However, I must note that I hit up the site *a lot* and have never seen this.
