blog As reported by half a dozen media outlets over the past 24 hours, long-time National Australia Bank senior IT executive Denis McGee, who has most recently held the post of chief information officer, has resigned. CIO Magazine has a decent story on McGee’s departure. The publication reports (we recommend you click here for the full story):

According to NAB enterprise services and transformation group executive Lisa Gray, it was the “right time” for McGee to pursue his next challenge. “The end of 2013 is a natural juncture in NAB’s technology plans,” she said in a statement.

You can find McGee’s Linkedin profile here; he’s been with the bank since 2008; before that he held several senior IT positions at rival bank ANZ. I met McGee several times and always found that he was 100 percent on top of his responsibilities and an absolute gentleman. I believe McGee can take a great deal of credit for the success of NAB’s recent wide-ranging IT transformation. It will be interesting to see what his next steps are.
