Origin searches for Head of Cloud Services

newsĀ Australian energy provider Origin is on the hunt for an experienced executiveĀ to take onĀ the role of Head of Cloud Services as the firm moves towards a “cloud first” strategy.

In a posting online the company saidĀ the “rare opportunity” will give the winningĀ candidate the chance to “own” cloud services for theĀ ASX-listed business, as well as toĀ “shape and build the capability”Ā going forwards.

Reporting to the General Manager ofĀ IT Infrastructure and Operations, theĀ role is being aimed atĀ a ā€œcloud nativeā€ with experience developing and deployingĀ enterprise-wide cloud strategy.

According to the ad, Origin is seekingĀ a “people leader” whoĀ canĀ influence and build partnerships withĀ internal and external stakeholders to deliver cloud strategy for the company.

Candidates will needĀ an in-depth knowledge of best-practice cloud strategy for large, ASX–listed corporate groups, as well as an ability to provide leadership forĀ technology and business groups through the transition.

TheĀ new Head of Cloud ServicesĀ will further need to support stakeholders in assessingĀ the firms applications and workloads to determineĀ suitability for the cloud-first migration,
manageĀ Origin’s cloud environments, andĀ optimiseĀ the environments to ensure maximum value, as well as ensuring the systems areĀ ā€œfit for purposeā€.
