news Australian energy provider Origin is on the hunt for an experienced executive to take on the role of Head of Cloud Services as the firm moves towards a “cloud first” strategy.

In a posting online the company said the “rare opportunity” will give the winning candidate the chance to “own” cloud services for the ASX-listed business, as well as to “shape and build the capability” going forwards.

Reporting to the General Manager of IT Infrastructure and Operations, the role is being aimed at a “cloud native” with experience developing and deploying enterprise-wide cloud strategy.

According to the ad, Origin is seeking a “people leader” who can influence and build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cloud strategy for the company.

Candidates will need an in-depth knowledge of best-practice cloud strategy for large, ASX–listed corporate groups, as well as an ability to provide leadership for technology and business groups through the transition.

The new Head of Cloud Services will further need to support stakeholders in assessing the firms applications and workloads to determine suitability for the cloud-first migration,
manage Origin’s cloud environments, and optimise the environments to ensure maximum value, as well as ensuring the systems are “fit for purpose”.
