A million Australians use LinkedIn
Professional social networking site LinkedIn today revealed it had recently hit the one million mark of Australians on its network and was expanding its operations locally.
The company has an existing Australian managing director, Clifford Rosenberg, but has now imported one of its executives from its Mountain View headquarters, Steve Barham, to be its director of recruitment solutions for the local market, working out of the company’s new Pitt St office in Sydney.
“By establishing a local presence, we can focus on developing strategic partnerships to enhance LinkedIn usage. Our marketing efforts will be directed towards raising awareness for our premium subscriptions, advertising, recruitment products and driving user engagement,” said Rosenberg in a statement.
Globally, LinkedIn has more than 60 million members. The company described its Australian growth as “excellent”. Like a number of other global sites, it has established a sub-Australian domain, http://au.linkedin.com.
