HTC Windows phones hit Telstra, Optus

blog We’ve more or less known about these launches for a while, but today HTC finally confirmed the details of its Windows Phone 8 launches in Australia. There’s two new models on offer here, both looking especially spiffy. The HTC Windows Phone 8X (pictured above) is the top-end model. We previewed it on Delimiter a month or so back and were quite positive about it broadly, pending support for 4G speeds, which HTC has subsequently confirmed. The HTC Windows Phone 8S (pictured in the second shot in the gallery below) is the lesser model, but still competitive in terms of its specs and design, although it doesn’t support 4G. And, of course, you’re all out of luck if you want to go with Vodafone. Availability and pricing information below:

  1. the 8X isnt coming to Vodafone? You better check your sources cause I’m pretty sure it is. I read that all 3 carriers will be getting the 8X. If Vodafone doesnt get it, it will be the only operator without a flagship windows phone 8 device!

  2. 8X is coming to the other carriers it is just a Telstra exclusive for the short term. I think I read somewhere it was only a few weeks.

  3. Update: Vodafone has the 8X as well. Statement from HTC this week: The Windows Phone 8X by HTC will be available with Vodafone for $0 upfront on the $60 plan over 24-months.
