hey everyone,
just a quick update: The commenter known as ‘NBNAlex’ has been placed on a one-month ban following a series of posts which are out and out rude to other posters.
Secondly, the commenter known as ‘Alain’ is once again allowed to comment on the site again, following discussion about the situation. However, he is on a one-month probation for commenting. If he reaches the end of the probation without breaching the comments policy then his year’s ban will be lifted.
HubertCumberdale: If I see the following sentence once more on Delimiter you will earn yourself an instant two month ban:
“Stop your whining. Your ill-informed input was not requested nor is it required in this debate.”
For everyone else, some of you have been verging on breaching the comments policy recently with respect to offensive posts. Please read it again and keep it in mind:

Kind regards,
Renai
20/02/2013 at 12:45 am #141174Hey, I told you in the email. So if that is what you want to do go for it. We’ve all had to put up with his childish and irrational behavior for far too long. I for one won’t be drawn into it. He’s had far too many chances. He can reply to me all he likes but that’s all he’ll get in return now. (What? He was complaining about that in his discussion with you???)
Let’s look at a few facts:
1. Expects people to answer his questions. When supplied with one will never be satisfied and will dredge up some bullshit from weeks/months/years ago that was already debated to death Ground Hog Day style.
2. When asked questions himself will avoid the issue then accuse others of diverting the topic.
3. Needlessly replies to comments just to make a “point” and can never let anything go.
4. You can’t disagree with the coalition and you can’t agree with anything positive about the NBN without him having some idiotic thing to say about it.
5. Continually nitpicks. No rhyme or reason to it, just nitpicks, assuming because when the argument has been exhausted until the next article (see point 1) that’s all he has left.
Oh yeah it’s your forum and it’s your website Renai so do what you will but like I said in the email last year I have never ever endorsed banning anyone on any website ever in all my time on the internet. Until now… and now you are giving him YET another chance? All while telling me I’m going to get banned for my innocuous comment? Really?
20/02/2013 at 1:56 am #141184Hubert,
I am sure you realise that I cannot have one standard for Alain and one for you. The following statement:
“Stop your whining. Your ill-informed input was not requested nor is it required in this debate.”
Is clearly not “polite” as Delimiter’s comments policy requires. I am dealing separately with Alain’s transgressions and am clearly and publicly disciplining him. I am warning you to a much lesser extent, as your transgressions have been of a lesser nature, but it would be remiss of me not to address both situations.
I hope you understand that I value your contribution to the Delimiter community. Don’t take this too seriously! Just don’t post that comment any more and I will not take any action ;)
Renai
20/02/2013 at 2:37 pm #141223I actually think it is quite polite, if I wanted to be impolite to him I’d simply type what everyone is thinking… so I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on that issue. However since there is obviously a more amicable solution you have my word that I will not post that comment anymore ;)
20/02/2013 at 5:15 pm #141267Would hyperlinking to previous uses of the response be a suitable alternative? :)
20/02/2013 at 5:36 pm #141273jasmcd plz. Give me a bit more credit. That would be far too predictable :)
22/02/2013 at 2:56 pm #141322I appreciate your second chance for alain Renai. He can get….tiresome, but I too genuinely believe he can contribute.
He just needs to reign in the….sauce IMHO :-)
15/03/2013 at 5:59 pm #141957How is the ban implemented? I haven’t been able to comment for a while!
19/03/2013 at 11:37 am #142024I see you’ve attracted someone called “TheTruthHurts”. He’s a concern troll, you may as well ban him now because everyone does eventually.

Is IBM retrenching 1,500 Aussie staff?
If reports are to be believed, and they’re flooding in from both mainstream media outlets with claimed staff sources, as well as online staff message boards, the company could be in the process of making some 1,500 Australian staff redundant, which would probably be about 10 percent of its local workforce.

The Queensland Government has committed to adopting two of the most radical measures implemented by then-US Government chief information officer Vivek Kundra in the Obama administration’s first term, as it grapples with a government-wide ICT Audit released last week that starkly demonstrates the potential for further disasters akin to the Queensland Health payroll catastrophe.
