VMware appoints new Australia and New Zealand chief

news VMware, a provider of cloud and virtualization software and services, has appointed Alister Dias as Vice President and Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Dias will start his new role on 1 April, 2016, and will replace Duncan Bennet who left the company at the end of last year.

An industry veteran of over 30 years, Dias brings valuable experience across business leadership, sales, technical and channel management roles, the firm said.

In his previous post, he served as Vice President and Managing Director for EMC Australia and New Zealand, and has held numerous management positions within the Australia and NZ market at EMC, CA Technologies and Soft Centre.

Sharat Sinha, Vice President, GTM and General Business for VMware Asia Pacific & Japan will continue as interim General Manager for the business in Australia and New Zealand until Dias steps into the role in April.

With 2014 revenues of $6 billion, VMware has more than 500,000 customers and 75,000 partners. The company is headquartered in Silicon Valley with offices throughout the world.
