It's a bit of a trade off comparing this to the Nokia 920, given the 920 has a smaller 4.5 Super-LCD screen, but higher resolution, and therefore superior pixel density. However in Samsung's favour, although the screen is larger, its still a smaller handset than the 920, without the huge Nokia bezel. There's the whole S-AMOLED vs Super LCD debate too, but I'll save that for another day..

In regards to the aesthetics though, I'm failing to see how this is top quality. Again personal preference, but to me this is just 'Samsung Bleh'. Nokia's industrial design is much cooler, as long as you like colours, but they match the WP8 homescreen so well. HTC is at least trying, with the same kind of theme.

From what we know about the 920, it's almost a given that it will take better photos and video, given it's OIS and superior low light photography. Obviously this is the 920's hero feature, so it will be interesting if Samsung can in any way compete with it's standard 8mp cam.

As others have said its good to have more choice of WP8 handsets out on the market though, and with Samsung you can bet it will be popular. It will be interesting to see some reviews and benchmarks too, as I have no doubt this thing will fly.

Ummm, is it just me.....or does it just look like The SGS 3.....

I know Samsung have an issue with originality. At least it's got aluminium. But take that away and it's pretty much an SGS 3.

I was set on the Lumia 920 but this really makes me want to try out the Samsung now.

“The ATIV S is flat-out beautiful, and it has the guts to match. But what’s impressed me most about the ATIV S is Samsung’s attention to detail. To get to your Start screen, you hit a raised physical Windows button, not a capacitive one. The speaker bar on the front and the back, as well as all of the buttons, are aluminum, not plastic. And the display glass has just the slightest of rounded edges. It all adds up to a device that looks great, feels great, and performs great.”

Will need to weigh up the apps that Nokia ships with against how these phones are priced but it's great to have the choices.

I'm looking to buy a high-end WP8 phone at the end of the year, and it looks like I'll have some difficulty choosing which one. So far the Lumia 920, HTC 8X and now ATIV S all look really great. I guess I'll have to wait for Delimiter to do a full comparison of the WP8 flagships. :)
