People who jump onto Rabodirect, Ubank or RAMS are those who actually will move their money for more interest. They care more about $$$, the UI etc. is an added benefit.

That being said, having the capability to manage the whole product suite on a single platform is very cost effective and a wise business decision for NAB.

On a completely irrelevant point, we need the RBA to push radical payment reforms. The big 4 are slacking and showing a lot of resistance.

Wow, I also though the point of the vanilla online offering was to test out the full Oracle suit. I remember being very excited when uBank opened up with only three products and thinking of all the innovation they could deliver without all of NAB legacy systems to fight.

The intra-day payment offering would be cooler if CBA hadn't done it first and more comprehensively.

While I like UBank's products, I've always been very disappointed with their website - from the beginning it was clunky and difficult to use.

Then I started receiving heaps of paper in the mail for statements for the various accounts I had opened - without any way of getting them online.

For an "online only" bank, I thought this was pretty poor form - my office has been paperless for years now, with most financial institutions (and I deal with a lot of them) giving me online statements, saving on the torrent of paper I used to receive in my mailbox each week.

I'm glad they've finally migrated to a platform which will offer something as basic in 2012 as online statements.

Perhaps now that can really start innovating and deliver on the promises that UBank was supposed to bring to banking.

While I'm not impressed with the new CBA online banking experience (UI too busy and not that intuitive) - I do agree that CBA has been years ahead of their rivals for some time now in their online functionality. I especially like the near-real-time updates for credit card transactions, it gives a sense of security for being able to identify and deal with problematic transactions in a timely manner.
