I can't see us replacing our Cisco handsets with soft phones any time soon, but I can see us ditching Cisco Unified Presence as fast as possible for Lync. CUP is awful, awful software.

We had the Cius on order well before it was shipped, anticipating Cisco could produce a good, usable business orientated device. Unfortunately what has arrived is a buggy, slow, device with a crap screen and poor battery life. App compatibility is limited by their choice of Intel CPU over ARM, and what's worse is it sucks at one of it's primary tasks - voice calls.

I've asked for it to be taken off my desk and replaced with my old 7941, the Cius is pretty much unusable day to day.

Where I currently work we got a Cisco Cius to try out. It's very Version 1. No 3G. Old version of Android...

It's pretty expensive too - although it does converge your tablet requirement with your desk phone.

Cisco would have been better off writing a few flavours of Mobility app to run on Android, iOS, Windows Mobile and maybe Blackberry and be done with it.
