Delimiter a finalist in journalism awards
Hi everyone,
Just a brief note to let you know that Delimiter has been recognised as a finalist in a slew of awards to be announced on the technology journalism industry’s annual night of nights – the IT Journalism Awards 2010, otherwise known as ‘The Lizzies’.
Delimiter itself is a finalist in the categories of Best Website, Best News Coverage and Best Business Technology Coverage, while Delimiter publisher Renai LeMay is a finalist in the categories of Best News Journalist, Best Business Technology Journalist, Best Technology Industry Journalist and Best Columnist.
Unfortunately there was no category for Best Apple Troll Story, otherwise we would likely have been a contender in that area as well.
To be announced in several weeks’ time, the awards will see Delimiter go up against a wide range of other prestigious technology titles – including Gizmodo, iTNews, Lifehacker, The Sydney Morning Herald, ZDNet.com.au, The Australian Financial Review, The AustralianIT, Australian Reseller News, CIO, Business Review Weekly, Communications Day and more.
We’ve worked directly with journalists from many of these titles in the past and continue to do so – and of course we see them daily at events and are always reading their stories. There was some great work done in 2010, and we’re proud to be part of this industry. Finally, best of luck to all those competing – and to the victor go the spoils!
Cheers,
Renai LeMay
Publisher, Delimiter
PS: The photo above is one of the famous trophies from which The Lizzies takes its name — although we suspect it may also be a reference to Hunter S. Thompson’s seminal work, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

sponsored post ING Direct recently implemented a private cloud solution to virtualise its entire banking platform, allowing it to provision a new copy of itself -- a so-called 'bank in a box' -- within minutes.
As long as you beat AustralianIT… ;)
Well we’re up against them in the Best News Coverage and Best Business Technology coverage categories, and of course in several of the individual awards. I highly doubt it would happen, but if we took out Best News Coverage in our first year I think I would start bathing in champagne for a few days :)
Congrats on the nomination mate, good luck!
Cheers! *fingers crossed*
Congrats Renai.
However, I thought I would be a shoe-in for “Blatant Yes Minister tie-in for a tech article”.
Oh well, next year.
BTW, will Bacon the plush bacon accept the award?
Congrats Renai. A very worthy nomination it is too. Out of all the feeds I get my daily news from, Delimiter has easily become my favourite source for Australian tech industry news.*
*Disclaimer: Renai said he’d buy me an iPad 2 to say this ;)
Congratulations, Renai, on getting the nominations. I hope the next photo is of the trophies sitting on your desk.
Well done, if you win will you get a pay rise?
hehe I doubt it Garry, but I’ll ask the editor ;)
