Leveraging the Always On support experience for IT transformation: This IDC whitepaper outlines the importance of support services in IT environments. IT organisations are now required to support everything from legacy systems and storage to virtualised configurations and cloud-based computing in complex, heterogeneous environments. The increasingly critical role of vendor-supplied external support services is discussed and highlighted in addressing these emerging IT environments going forward.

Conquering the challenges of data center complexity: Virtualisation and cloud are two popular IT trends that lower costs and make computing more secure and efficient. However, they also add complexity. Read this thought leadership paper and learn new ways to conquer your data center complexity challenges.

Caption contest: iiNet’s FetchTV “adult onesie”

At the end of our briefing yesterday with iiNet yesterday about its new FetchTV IPTV service, the broadband provider’s chief technology provider Greg Bader got out a goodie bag for us to take home with us.

This is a pretty standard event for journalists — companies often like to give us USB keys, pens, t-shirts, hats, notepads and so on, branded with their logos — probably in the hope that it will gain their brand some exposure in our unconscious thinking about their industry.

Yesterday’s kit was supposed to contain an iiNet/FetchTV t-shirt. But right at the last minute Bader remembered iiNet actually had something better. You can call it a “onesie”, you can call it pyjamas, you can call it “an adult babysuit”. But at the Delimiter office it reminded us of nothing more than a ninja outfit from ancient Japan.

So we thought we’d take it for a spin.

Like all vendor goods, it comes with the right logos prominently displayed on the front:

And what looks to be the slogan for iiNet’s specific FetchTV marketing campaign on the back:

Delimiter publisher Renai LeMay got … probably a little too excited with iiNet’s gift.

So we thought we’d give it away. What is Renai saying in this picture? We’ll send the iiNet “onesie” by post to the best entry, as well as the iiNet beanie that goes with it.

Democracy no need apply now, spoken word replaced with Sit Stay and Play!!!!!!!

It was actually conceived by an Austrian Economist (according to wikipedia) but phonetically (the above) would suit English in a Chinese/Japanese Accent.
