Springboard buys Hydrasight
Independent Australian analyst house Hydrasight has been bought up by larger player Springboard Research.
Hydrasight was formed in 2005 by experienced analysts John Brand and Michael Warrilow. Both are veterans in the industry, having worked for META Group and other organisations. Warrilow is particularly known for his expertise in enterprise content management, while Warrilow is a specialist in areas like technology governance and enterprise management.
Several other analysts — Tim O’Brian and Mark Bouchard — had joined the firm as associate analysts since it was established.
In a statement, Springboard said the Hydrasight business would continue to operate as normal until the integration was complete in mid-2010, although the acquisition would be effective immediately.
“The acquisition of Hydrasight enables us to deliver new research services tailored to the unique end user needs of commercial enterprises and public sector organisations in the Asia Pacific region” said Dane Anderson, CEO and EVP of Research for Springboard.
The statement said Hydrasight had “a reputation for strong client relationships and the ability to provide pragmatic, accessible and actionable advice”.
Hydrasight’s business model had focused on providing what it described as an “independent oversight role” advising enterprise steering committees and project teams, rather than publishing “generic mass-published research or consulting services”,” the statement said.
